Upcoming Craft Swaps

A monthly craft swap has appeared! This month we are hosting at the Taylorsville Library. I know there were some people who were really excited to have us at the Ruth Vine Tyler library last month, so we’ll see what we can do about the manpower to do multiple locations in the future. Come clean out your closet, fill it up again, or both!

About us

Secondhand Salamander is a “creative reuse center” - basically a thrift store for crafting, art, and DIY supplies. We take donations of partially-used (or new!) art supplies and offer them to the community at an exceptionally discounted price. We’re just getting started (est. 2024!) so we don’t have a physical location and we’re working on gaining 501(c)(3) status. But as we expand we’ll start offering community classes, school/ teacher support, and so much more!

We also love partnering with other groups that help provide sustainable creation to their community!

Follow us on Instagram @secondhand_salamander for weekly updates!

Inclusion

We hope to be a place where anyone can come to discover new hobbies and find creative fulfillment. You are welcome and loved.

Thrift

Our non-profit status allows us to sell craft supplies at a huge discount compared to big box stores. Artistic expression is a right, not a luxury!

Check out Together Arts! They do free art classes/supplies for the community in Salt Lake. We partner with them as a donation station and for some events!

Non-profit

Our non-profit status allows us to work directly with the groups that need us the most. Soon enough we’ll be a 501(c)(3) and can offer tax-deductions for donations!

Environment

We help divert waste from landfills by accepting donations of crafting odds-and-ends and giving them new life. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
